T4 employees, one 12-month program

The challenge

Wellington Shire Council wanted to strengthen the leadership capability of 24 T4 employees and embed the Local Government Capability Framework in day-to-day leadership practice.

Our approach

Objective Leader delivered a 12-month development program combining the Local Government Objective Leader Assessment, personalised one-to-one coaching and four practical leadership modules. This blended approach connected individual development priorities with the Capability Framework while building shared leadership practices across the cohort.

The outcome

Participants reported greater confidence and practical improvements in communication, delegation, decision-making, team leadership and cross-Council collaboration. The program helped translate the Local Government Capability Framework into practical leadership behaviour, while the strength of the participant feedback cemented Council’s decision to continue the program with its next T4 cohort.
